To connect people wanting to do good DEEDS to the people who have pressing
NEEDS.
Testimonies
#1 We went in to meet "K----" and I asked her if I could pray for her. She
was not feeling very good at that time. She welcomed it. So we prayed. God
is so wonderful. This is something new for me, being able to step out of my
comfort zone and meet someone new and being able to pray for them.
She was so thankful for everything, "K----" mentioned that when she was
better she was planning on finding a church. She also said that if I wanted
to come over and read scriptures to her to come over anytime.
Thank you for providing us with the opportunity to serve! #2
Serving has a way of bringing your life in perspective. It has moved me from
self-centeredness and opened my eyes to all that God created and how much he
loves us all. Many times I have set out to serve to be a blessing but in
turn it was I who was blessed. #3
The greatest impact on my life is when I was serving for the "Walk this Way"
event. We got on the bus to ride through the nearby neighborhoods and ask
the children who we would see on the street if they would like to come to
the event. We went to their house to ask for permission and loaded them up
on the bus. This experience brought me face to face with the reality of
poverty and children who craved attention and love. There is something
"safe" in writing a check (though a need that is appreciated) but it is
life-changing when you witness meeting a need first hand. I will never
forget those children and the joy of spending time with them and how much
they wanted to be near me. My heart is still there and it aches to go back
and love on those children.
